Microsoft Surface 2: Algebra Touch App
This App lesson will be done in a modified math curriculum catering to many special needs students studying basic algebra skills. In accordance to the Common Core, this app provides specific lessons within a mathematical/algebraic subject field. Essentially, students can work at their own pace, because everybody in this specific classroom learns completely different, with variations of accommodations and modifications.

Algebra Touch is a behaviorist platform for learning math that allows for more direct teaching. Perfect for special education. As each category is broken down into several sub categories, students can choose their weakness, and begin working. Students will be forced to aesthetically place parts of formulas together using their touch, and will be immediately reinforced with the right answers. Students will be able to drag to rearrange, tap to simplify, draw lines to eliminate identical terms, easily switch between lessons and randomly generated practice problems. They will be able to create your own problems to solve! Current material covers: Simplification, Like Terms, Commutativity, Order of Operations, Factorization, Prime Numbers, Elimination, Isolation, Variables, Basic Equations, Distribution, and Factoring Out.
Essentially, they will be supported through their weakness, and be forced to physically make the solutions work.
Students view the multiple ways problems are orientated and can work to create their own solutions to check whether their work is correct or not. Essentially, they learn by doing.
